TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF BUSINESS
CANCELLATION OF COURSE
In case of cancellation we shall charge a handling fee of € 40,-. Cancellation or rebooking of courses is permissible at the latest one week before scheduled start of the course and must be done in person at the Schubert College (in exceptional cases written cancellations are also possible). For cancellations or rebookings that are done later or after a course has already started there will be no refunds. In case a cover is nominated at the same time a cancellation is done we shall not charge the usual handling fee.
REBOOKING OF COURSE / UNUSED ONE-ON-ONE LESSONS
A course which has been booked and paid for may be cancelled at no expenses up to 7 days before start of the course. Later rebookings incur a service fee of €40. Unused one-on-one lessons may be used no later than 1 year after they have been paid for.
Participants are liable for all damages caused by them and are requested by law to pay for them. The course provider (Schubert College) cannot be held accountable for any damages or personal injuries of the participants. The Schubert College provides neither accidental nor health insurance for its participants. Parents and guardians are responsible for their children. Participation in any field trips which are organized by the Schubert College are at the participant’s own risk. The Schubert College may not be held responsible for the loss of any personal belongings of the participant.
EXPULSION BY THE SCHUBERT COLLEGE
The Schubert College undertakes to create an atmosphere which furthers studying and encourages tolerance. Therefore, the Schubert College will expel participants immediately who insult other participants or trainers or who become involved in scuffles or brawls and shall provide no refunds. In case a participant does not adhere to the rules or disrupts a course he or she may likewise be expelled from further attending courses; refunds will not be provided. Please note that smoking is prohibited on the premises of the Schubert College.
CANCELLATION – TRUNCATION – POSTPONEMENT
In case the minimum number of participants for a course is not reached the Schubert College reserves the right to truncate the course, cancel it all together or to postpone it. In case of a lack of qualified staff (on short notice) cancellations, truncations or postponements are also possible. In this case participants will get a refund for any courses or lessons.
FIELD TRIPS / EXAMS
Field trips, examinations etc. are not included in the course fee and need to be paid on location.
Group courses: In case of irregular participation in the language course without compelling reason there will be no refund of course fees nor extension of the course. An extension of participation in the course is only possible with a medical certificate and only if the same course level is offered as a follow-up course.
One-on-one training: Should any lessons be cancelled by the participant the cancelled units will be held at a later time in case notice of cancellation is announced no later than 12 o’clock of the previous working day. In case a participant arrives more than 20 minutes late the lesson is regarded as cancelled and has to be paid in full. In such a case there is no obligation of the Schubert College to offer make-up lessons. In case a participant does not show up at the scheduled time the lesson is regarded as held. Every lesson or part thereof is charged as a full lesson even if the lesson has to be cancelled.
In case lessons have to be cancelled because of personal incapability or illness of the language teacher the Schubert College will provide a substitute teacher or the lessons will be held (after consultation with the participants) at a later date.
COURSE BOOKS AND COURSE MATERIAL
In case of a booking of full levels (2 or three months) the course material (books, photo-copied material) as well as certificate of attendance are included in the course price. In case of bookings for only a month participants need to pay for the course book themselves.
Course books, material and certificates of participation are included in the course price. Materials provided by the Schubert College may not be photocopied or duplicated.
OBLIGATION TO COOPERATE AND NOTICE OF DEFECT
The participant is obliged to inform the Schubert College in Vienna of any defects without any necessary delay on the same day or the day thereafter at the latest and to request a remedy. The Schubert College waives any responsibility of remedy and compensation in case of non-compliance.
ORGANIZER OF COURSES AND UNITS
The organizer of the language courses is the Schubert College in Vienna. One lesson (unit) always equals 50 minutes.
Vouchers may be redeemed (cashed in) at the Schubert College for private and group lessons and are valid up to 12 months after issuance. Per person and course only one voucher can be redeemed. Per course only one scholarship per person is permissible.
DATA PROTECTION / PROTECTION OF PRIVACY
All data regarding the participants will be handled confidentially. No data will be passed on to third parties and will be used by the Schubert College only for internal purposes to improve customer service.
Participants are not allowed to cancel their contract in case a change of teacher is necessary. Any kind of changes or additions to these conditions here must be done in writing. The Schubert College reserves the right to change the regulations, the program, the prices and the terms and conditions of business without prior notification. In case part of these terms is or becomes invalid the other regulations nevertheless remain valid. We are not responsible for printing or translation errors. Place of jurisdiction will be Vienna. In case of differing interpretations the German version of this document shall prevail.
